CA Plex – Uplift Your Development (Track 1)
Are you using CA Plex, and is your application stuck with 1990’s technology C++ and RPG? Then this training is not to be missed. Arun will lead a technical discussion on the new features of 7.2.1 and 7.3, and will answer your questions about upgrading from C++/RPG to Java and .Net. We will then have a laboratory around generating modern interfaces from CA Plex – focusing on Web, Mobile, and API’s. We will look at OAuth and 2 factor authentication. Bring your laptop with Plex installed or you can connect to a virtual machine on our Azure cloud.

This hands-on workshop will explore different aspects of DevOps for the CA Plex professional. We will look at source, object, and model management, deployment, automated testing, cloud / container deployment, and more. If you have not had a look at the Microsoft Azure Cloud, this will also be your chance to get some training on this modern and cost-effective platform that competes with Amazon AWS.

Jonathan Bolton’s talk will focus on how Execute User Source objects can be utilized in RP4 action diagrams to implement and utilize “cutting edge†programming techniques that will increase the versatility of your projects. The use of freeware utilities incorporated into 2E functions to parse data into either a SOAP XML request or a JSON packet and then consume the appropriate web service will be demonstrated. He will also demonstrated use of advanced email techniques.
